Empowering WOMEN

is a Win for all Australians

Empowering the Women of Australia means promoting and enabling more Women into more powerful and prominent Leadership positions in broader Australian society.

The Empowerment of Women is a goal worth pursuing with vigour and haste as countless studies show both Women and men benefit when Women occupy a greater share of Leadership positions.

One place Australia desperately needs more Female Leadership and Female participation in general is in Australia's political system.

At present of Australia's nine Federal, State & Territory Leaders only two are Women.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk of Queensland & Premier Gladys Berejiklian of New South Wales.

This is simply not good enough - and we must all work to improve this ratio.

In addition to the sad dearth of Women at the top and leading our States, there is a perhaps even more concerning deficit of Women in Australia's many legislatures in general.

At present, of Australia's 15 Legislative Chambers, only ONE - only ONE - has a majority of Women.

Congratulations must go to the residents of the ACT for being the first electorate to elect a majority of Women to comprise their elected representatives in the ACT Legislative Assembly.

In all honesty, 1/15 is an appalling ratio. Less than 7% of Legislative Chambers!

So what must be done about this?

Clearly the time for waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting... for the 'talent to rise to the top' is over - it is time for some proactive action to redress this imbalance as soon as practicable.

When the system isn't working, the imperative of all concerned members of a society is to fix the broken system and work towards creating a better one.

There are several options available to our leaders to implement policies that promote and support Women to take a greater share of leadership positions in the near future.

In particular, the Premier Annastacia Palasczcuk of Queensland has the opportunity to enact powerful and overdue reforms to the electoral funding laws to provide the incentive for political parties (some political parties need) to fully Support and Empower the Very Talented Women all around us to enter well-deserved positions of Leadership.

FEMALE Leadership - YES

Who are WE?

We are citizens of Australia who want to see the best outcomes for this great country.

There's no doubt that the weight of evidence shows that Female Leadership and promoting Women into Leadership positions is beneficial for Women, men, and society as a whole.

Numerous scientific studies have shown that not only is greater representation of Women in Leadership a net positive for businesses and society at large, but that this benefit increases the more Women are promoted to leadership positions.

In other words - there is no 'upper limit' to worry about when promoting Women into Leadership - literally the more Women Leaders there are the better.

Achieving a breakdown in leadership positions of 50% cf. 50% for Women and men becomes a bare minimum when one studies and learns about the natural leadership attributes Women possess in abundance.

So let's all pull in the same direction and work to ensure more and more Women are given the Leadership positions in our society they deserve - and we will all be the winners.
